Notice for Customers in the Russian Fededation

If you’re trying to access Fourplex services in Russia, keep in mind that as of the time of posting, Fourplex IPv4 (and possibly IPv6) ranges are filtered in Russia. We do not recommend customers from the Russian Federation subscribe to Fourplex services.

This is not limited to Fourplex. Our rivals including DataPacket and Cherry Servers are also affected.

We believe this filtering is because hosts such as Fourplex, DataPacket and Cherry Servers host a large number of “proxy” services including VPN servers and Tor relays, despite other heavily-filtered countries like China not doing the same. In addition, our Static IP Tunneling product acts similar to an unencrypted VPN, despite not being an anonymity service.

As of now, we have no plans to disallow proxy services. We understand most of our rivals disallow proxy servers. However, disallowing proxy servers does not guarantee Russia will unblock us as certain “proxy” services (i.e. Tor non-exit relays and bridges) can be run without issue even if Tor is explicitly disallowed.

However, as a US company, remember that the US Government has sanctions on the export of cloud-based services to Russia. Therefore, while we’re no legal experts, to our understanding subscribing to Fourplex services from Russia violates US law, even when trying to use foreign credit cards or PayPal accounts.

If you require access to Fourplex services from Russia (i.e. you’re visiting family there), we recommend using an unblocked VPN, Tor with pluggable transports, or a non-Russian roaming SIM card or eSIM on an unlocked phone or hotspot.
